Akademie of Fine Arts for women
The Akademie of Fine Arts for women school was established in 1914 by the initative of Mihri Hanım'ın, to provide education in art to women. Belkıs Mustafa is one of the first woman among 27 Muslim students and 6 Christian students, to register classes.
Belkıs Mustafa is the first muslim woman to earn a degree in painting from School of The Arts in 1917. After a fire in school all registrations were lost. But thanks to Belkıs Mustafa's privat notes, we know the names and registration numbers of the first woman students.
